About the event

13 September, 10.00am – 11.00am, online

Join Senior Consultant Ian Anker alongside the Local Government Association.

IT leaders, managers and their senior teams are invited to join a one-hour virtual event on 13 September at 10am.

You will have the opportunity to explore the value of pro-active conversations between digital and children’s services to overcome tensions within the system. You will also hear about a project that Leeds City Council is undertaking in relation to recording and how they are creating a culture that allows social workers to do their role.

Following this, delegates will have the opportunity to hear about the system implications of transitioning to a new safeguarding model. This is an area that more and more councils are considering, and Ian has supported local authorities through their journey.

As part of this event, the LGA will be launching some tools and guidance to support IT professionals and Children’s Services to collaborate effectively and further a shared understanding and vision to achieving best outcomes for children and their families. This tool has been developed based on shared experience within the sector.

The aim of this event is to strengthen a whole council approach to children.
